I’m Simon Read, a user experience designer based in Leeds, UK.

I have 15 years of experience in UX and web design roles across a range of industries. This has encompassed analysing audience research, wireframing and prototyping, web design and graphic design, supported with usability and accessibility audits. 

I also have experience in conversion rate optimisation, paid media, email design and build as well as animation and video editing.

Experience

I spent more than a decade working as a UX designer in the Creative team at Enjoy Digital, encompassing all aspects of the web design process:

  1. Analysing UX research (using Lyssna, EyeQuant, Miro and more), working alongside our user researchers and Insights team to ensure projects meet user’s needs and converts them into customers.

  2. Wireframing and prototyping (using Figma & Axure RP) for rapid iteration and testing our user-focused web applications.

  3. Design work (using Figma) to create great-looking, on-brand and easy to use web projects.

  4. Collaborating with development teams, clients and other stakeholders to ensure our web projects launch looking great, work well and achieve the objectives we agreed on.

  5. Consistent iteration after launch with regular audits, reviews and Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) tests, regularly achieving successful test results well above the industry average.

But wait, there’s more:

  • Accessibility audits, creating our internal WCAG audit process from scratch and becoming the main point of contact for all accessibility-related work in the agency.

  • Paid social media, creating hundreds of assets for major brands such as Nisa and Valspar paint whilst following brand guidelines.

  • Working face-to-face with clients, explaining UX and design decisions backed with data and testing.

  • Video and animation work using Adobe AfterEffects and CapCut.

  • Email design and build using DotDigital, HubSpot and Mailchimp.

  • Supporting our sales team with mini UX audits for potential clients.
